Who we are

Designistry is a sole trader business at London Road, Polhill, Halstead, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 7AA. Contact hello@designistry.co.uk or 0203 870 2269.

Orders and prices

Prices shown include VAT where applicable and are in pounds sterling. A price quoted for a bespoke piece is fixed for 30 days from the date we send it. Everything is printed to order, so an order is confirmed when we acknowledge it, not when it is placed.

Colours on a screen are an approximation. For anything where the colour matters we print a physical sample and post it to you before the job runs, and we will not print a bespoke piece until you have approved that sample.

Bespoke work and deposits

Bespoke work is quoted individually. A deposit of 50% is payable before we begin, with the balance due on completion and before fitting. The deposit covers design time and material, and becomes non refundable once you have approved the design and we have started printing.

Design drawings, files and models we produce remain ours. You are buying the finished piece, not the design file. If you want the file as well, say so and we will price it.

Anything printed with your logo, wording or artwork is made on the basis that you have the right to use it.

Delivery and fitting

Stock pieces are dispatched within 2 to 3 working days. Bespoke lead times are given with the quote and depend on the size of the job.

Installation by our own team covers the South East of England. Outside that area we ship with a template and a fitting guide. Anything requiring mains electrical work is installed by a qualified electrician, which we will arrange or you can.

When it arrives

Everything we make is printed, not moulded. It is strong in the direction it was built and less strong across the layers, which is true of every 3D printed object ever made. We pack for that: each piece is bagged, wrapped and boxed with void fill, and we have very few arrive damaged. But couriers do what couriers do.

Please open it on camera

Start a video on your phone before you cut the tape, and keep filming until the piece is out of its wrapping and in your hand. It takes twenty seconds and it settles almost every question that could come up afterwards. If something is broken, that video means we remake it the same day instead of asking you questions you should not have to answer.

We ask because there is a real difference between a piece that arrived broken and a piece that broke after it arrived, and once the packaging is in the recycling neither of us can tell which happened. We would rather trust the video than one another’s memory.

If you forget, tell us anyway. We will still look after you.

Keep the packaging

Hold on to the box and the wrapping for 14 days. Couriers ask to see it when a claim is made, and without it a claim usually fails.

Tell us quickly

Damage you can see should reach us within 48 hours of delivery, or within 7 days if the piece was signed for by somebody else and sat in a post room. That is not a deadline for your rights; it is the window in which a courier will still accept a claim.

Returns

If it arrives damaged, faulty, or is not what you approved

We remake it or refund it, and we pay the postage both ways. That is the case whether or not you filmed the unboxing, and nothing on this page reduces the rights you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Send us photographs, or the video if you have one, and we will sort it.

If you change your mind

A stock piece bought in a stock colour can be returned within 14 days. It needs to come back unused and in a condition we can sell, in its original packaging, and the return postage is yours. We refund the item price once it arrives back with us.

Anything printed in a colour you chose, at a size you specified, or carrying your wording, logo or artwork, is made to order for you and cannot be returned because you have changed your mind. That is not us being difficult: a bespoke piece has no second customer. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, goods made to a consumer’s specification are exempt from the 14 day cancellation right, and this is why we post you a printed colour sample and get your written approval before anything is made.

If it breaks after it arrives

Accidental damage in the practice, in a fit-out, or during installation by somebody else is not something we can replace free of charge. Tell us what happened and we will quote to reprint it, usually quickly and usually for a good deal less than the original. We would far rather remake a piece cheaply than lose a practice over a dropped planter.

The same goes for a piece put somewhere it was not designed for: outdoors, above a radiator, in direct afternoon sun, or wiped down with a solvent. Ask us first and we will tell you honestly whether the material will take it.

Buying as a business

Where you are buying for a practice or a company rather than as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act does not apply and these terms are the whole agreement between us. In that case a video of the unopened parcel being opened is a condition of any claim for damage in transit, along with photographs of the outer packaging. We will always be reasonable about it, but we cannot carry the cost of damage we cannot see the cause of.

What we will not do

We will not quietly absorb repeated accidental damage, and we will not pretend a piece was faulty when it was dropped. We price fairly and we make things properly, and both of those depend on this being an honest arrangement in each direction.

Privacy

When you send an enquiry we store what you type: your name, practice, email, phone if you give it, and the description of what you want. We use it to reply to you and to run the job. We do not sell it and we do not add you to a mailing list you did not ask for.

Enquiries are stored on our own database on our hosting, and email is sent through Resend. Records are kept for as long as we need them for the job and for accounts, then deleted.

The site sets no advertising cookies and runs no advertising trackers. The Pinterest board on the latest models page is embedded from Pinterest, and Pinterest will set its own cookies if you interact with it.

To see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, email hello@designistry.co.uk and we will do it. If you are not happy with how we handle it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Accessibility

This site is built to be usable with a keyboard and a screen reader, with text that resizes and contrast that holds up. If something here is difficult to use, tell us at hello@designistry.co.uk and we will fix it rather than log it.

Signage we make can be produced to meet accessibility requirements including tactile lettering, Braille and contrast ratios. Ask when you enquire.
